Vinícius Sgarbe is a journalist (PUCPR), holds a master's degree in philosophy (PUCPR), specializing in the philosophy of psychoanalysis, and a master's degree in communication (UFPR), specializing in political communication. He is a member of the Otávio Frias Filho Chair for Studies in Communication, Democracy, and Diversity (2023-2024, and 2025-2026) at the Institute of Advanced Studies (USP). He is also a member of the Political Communication and Digital Democracy research group (UFPR).
He is a psychoanalyst and a member of Brincada do Ouvir (São Paulo). He is a certified organizational transactional analyst (National Union of Transactional Analysts, UNAT).
He was a multimedia reporter for CBN Curitiba radio and the G1 Paraná portal, under the auspices of RPC. He served as a correspondent in Brazil for Iran for the Persian state channel Shabake Khabar. He also worked as a TV fixer for the BBC's Persian and Arabic services in London. And he was a special political correspondent for Rio de Janeiro's O Globo newspaper.
He is the co-founder of the production company Outras Terras Filmes, and of the Lab Digital 2050 project. In 2023, the Lab became a Google startup.
I would like to express my gratitude for this "basic" course. As promised, it delivers fundamental content.
